A Company providing services to Local Authorities in Debt Collection and Credit Control is seeking a LLB Graduate with at least 3 years’ experience in Debt Collection and Credit Control Management.

Requirements:

The incumbent should be in possession of a LLB degree and must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in debt collecting. Knowledge in the following areas is vital:

- National Credit Act 34 of 2005

- Municipal Systems Act 32 of 2000

- Municipal Rates Act 6 of 2004

The incumbent must be fluent in English and Afrikaans. A third official language will be advantageous.

The incumbent must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and must be able to communicate well with clients.

Experience in Local Government will be advantageous.

The incumbent will be required to work within a Credit Control and Debt Collection Section and assist with the collection of outstanding debtor accounts for Rates and Services.

The incumbent will need to inter alia:

- issue s129 demand letters, summonses, default judgments and warrants of executions

- conclude arrangements with defaulting debtors.

- draft recommendations for write-off of irrecoverable debt

- draft recommendations for sales in execution

- report on the Top 350 outstanding debtors
